Alvin Soprano Biography

Alvin Soprano, born Alvin Soprano Romanov on May 16, 1994, in Istanbul, Turkey, is a machinima creator, gamer, writer, director, producer, actress, voice actor, and model.

She was born to a Mongolian Armenian mother, Nourshen Betty Romanov, and a Russian Italian father, Egor Romanov. Her childhood was spent between Istanbul, Rome, and Moscow, a multicultural upbringing that continues to influence her work today.

During high school, Alvin pursued a double major in Literature and Fine Arts. She later studied Creative Writing at university, majoring in Cinematography and Animation. Her passion for horror ignited at the age of five after accidentally watching an episode of Freddy’s Nightmares, which left a lasting impression. From then on, she began secretly watching horror films late at night, encouraged by her family’s shared love of the genre.

Her fascination with The Sims franchise began in 2003 when she discovered The Sims 1 on a family friend’s computer. Her father, an avid gamer, gifted her the full Sims 1 Collection as a birthday present. By 2004, Alvin had transitioned to The Sims 2, shaping her gameplay into eerie and surreal narratives. In 2007, she started sharing her in-game screenshots on forums and LiveJournal, soon realizing that storytelling—not gameplay—was her true passion.

On March 27, 2007, she released her first machinima, Something Strange in Strangetown, on YouTube. This was followed by Late Night Caller on October 31. Over the next few years, she continued creating horror machinimas, spanning multiple franchises including The Sims, Fallout, GTA, Skyrim, and Saints Row.

Between 2007 and 2012, she released 17 machinimas across various titles, including A Very Goth Christmas Story (2008), Starved (2009), and Midnight in the Sunset Valley (2011). However, on September 28, 2011, Alvin deleted her first YouTube channel, removing all 17 machinimas, and took a hiatus from the community.

She returned in 2017, co-creating a new channel with her friend Aylin Baykal. Together, they produced nine machinimas, including Resurrected and Vault-Mas 2287, before permanently deleting the channel on October 3, 2018.

On December 4, 2019, Alvin launched a new YouTube channel, releasing Billy Bob (2019) followed by full-length and episodic horror machinimas like Fantasmus (2020), Tales from StrangerVille (2020), and Notorius (2021). After removing the content on March 21, 2021, she returned once again on December 13, 2024, with Goodbye Mommy. Her channel has remained active since, with new entries like Rest in Pieces (2024), Drained (2025), and Bone-Skinny (2025).

In addition to machinima, Alvin maintained a horror vlog channel between 2007–2011, uploading 107 videos featuring creepypasta readings and spooky commentary. She revived this format from 2014 to 2019, posting 133 horror-themed vlogs before permanently deleting the channel on December 4, 2019, the same day she launched Soprano Productions.

Alvin began modeling professionally in 2009 for designer Waleria Starchuska’s SS2009 collection. She debuted on the runway in 2010 and has since worked with various fashion labels and photographers as a petite model.

While studying cinematography, Alvin also explored live-action filmmaking. Her first short film, Through Kitty’s Eyes (January 3, 2013), was followed by Alexander Not So Great (May 12, 2013), Night Surgeon (February 8, 2014), Genie in a Barrel (October 22, 2014), Past Lives (March 18, 2015), and French Kills (June 11, 2015).

Today, Alvin Soprano continues to independently write, direct, and produce machinimas, often collaborating with Jakob Chambers for music composition and Matthew Gordon for film co-editing. Her work is known for its strong horror aesthetic, emotionally resonant storytelling, and striking visual style.
