Acclaimed machinima filmmaker Alvin Soprano has released her latest project, Goodbye Mommy, yesterday on December 13, 2024. The short horror film, created using The Sims 4, marks Soprano’s official return to machinima after three years of inactivity.
Goodbye Mommy was written and directed by Alvin Soprano, who also voiced the role of the mother. The film stars Alvin Soprano’s niece Belinda Soprano as Lucy (voice), delivering a compelling performance that adds depth to the story’s emotional weight.
Goodbye Mommy tells the chilling story of Lucy, a young girl who encounters her recently deceased mother as she crosses into the afterlife. However, when Lucy interrupts her mother’s transition to the light, she quickly realizes that something has gone terribly wrong. Her mother has transformed into something sinister. The film explores eerie supernatural elements, using Soprano’s signature dark atmosphere with analoguesque visuals and detailed cinematography.
Soprano, the Italian-Turkish machinima producer, writer, model, voice actor and director, has been creating animated films using game engines since 2010. She initially launched her first YouTube channel that same year, steadily building a reputation for her unique storytelling and visual style. However, in 2017, she deleted the channel and all of its content. In 2019, she started a new channel and continued producing machinimas, primarily using The Sims 4 and Grand Theft Auto V. Her work included titles such as Kill the Messenger, Oblivious, and Planet Z. Despite her successful return, she ceased creating machinimas once again in 2021, removing all content from her channel before stepping away from the scene. After three years of silence, Soprano made her long-awaited return in December 2024 with Goodbye Mommy.
Goodbye Mommy is now available on Soprano’s YouTube channel, Soprano Productions.
