Alvin Soprano released her new horror short, Rest in Pieces, yesterday on December 25, 2024. The film, available on her YouTube channel, is the latest addition to her body of work following her return to machinima filmmaking in late 2024.
The film is both written and directed by Alvin Soprano, marking another project in her long standing machinima career since 2010. Soprano is known for creating films using game engines and animation tools, such as The Sims and Grand Theft Auto, and Rest in Pieces continues her exploration of dark and suspenseful storytelling through digital mediums.
Rest in Pieces tells the chilling story of Chris Edwards, a man who wakes up in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar place: a cemetery. The grave next to him is nameless, but its inscription reads “Rest In Pieces,” adding a disturbing layer to his situation. The film follows Chris’s attempt to understand what has happened to him and how he can escape from the eerie setting. The voice of Chris Edwards is provided by Aaron Landon Jackson, who delivers the character’s inner voice throughout the short.
Alvin Soprano’s Rest in Pieces is now available to watch on her YouTube channel, Soprano Productions. The short film joins her expanding portfolio of machinima works, with more expected to follow as she continues to create digital content.
